View of the Hold of Memory, 2004

Hold of Memory from City Dialogues at Barnsdall Art Park, 2004

The installation was part of an exhibition of collaborations that took place between artists and writers. From the text, "The Hold of Memory," written by Richard D. Hecht, Ekstrom has created altered pages and sculptural forms that bring into material presence the life of "Judy" a young girl who survived the Nazi death camp, Stutthof. Ekstrom and Hecht collaborated as well on the installation of the forms.
